$20m for Mackay Bucasia Road Upgrades

Today I announced that an LNP Government will commit $20m towards upgrades for Mackay Bucasia Road to ease traffic congestion.

Thank you to everyone who got behind my No Delays campaign to provide feedback and support for upgrades to Mackay Bucasia Road. With over 555 submissions your strong support for the campaign has meant that your voices have been heard.👏

Today I stood with Nigel Dalton, the LNP Candidate for Mackay , Jarrod Bleijie, Deputy Leader of the LNP and Greg Williamson, Mayor of Mackay Regional Council and Karen May, Deputy Mayor of Mackay Regional Council to announce that if the LNP wins government this October we will have $20m ready to go towards easing the congestion on Mackay Bucasia Road and supporting the continued growth of the Northern Beaches.

We will work with TMR and Council on design priorities but Golf Links Road intersection will be starting point.

We will take a holistic approach to the project including traffic lights and signal upgrades, a dedicated Northern Beaches Emergency Services Hub, as well as widening the road and flood mitigation works.

We’ll work with Council to get the project moving to deliver alternative emergency services routes and duplicating lanes to improve congestion, safety and flooding impacts.
